Paoli PA Dentist

Dr. Robert Lenker, DMD

Dr. Robert Lenker graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and began working at his father’s practice in Paoli, PA shortly thereafter. Dr. Lenker has been serving Paoli and the surrounding community for the past 35 years! He and his wife Lisa live in Malvern, PA. Although his three children Dr. Heather, Graham, and Kathryn are all grown up and out of the house; he still gets the pleasure of seeing his daughter Dr. Heather (Also his sister, Susan) at work every day! Occasionally, his English springer spaniel, Brodie, stops by the Paoli dental office to help Susan with the front desk work. 

Dr. Lenker participates in the American Dental Association and Pennsylvania Dental Association and takes numerous continuing education courses to stay up to date on new treatments and technology. Curious what a cavity looks like? He’ll take a picture of your tooth and show you! He believes that education is the key to successful dental treatment. He works hard to ensure each patient at Lenker Dental understands their oral health conditions and what solutions would best serve their individual needs. Questions are always welcome and encouraged! Dr. Lenker’s focus is on long-lasting patient relationships and finds great privilege in the opportunity to serve our patients for decades. He takes care of each patient like they are family. 

In his spare time, Dr. Lenker volunteers as a Trustee for BSA, Troop Devon 50.  He runs the annual First Aid Meet to help educate and prepare the boy scouts for a variety of potential problems and solutions. Always be prepared is a philosophy he carries with him both personally and professionally. Additionally, he enjoys traveling, and there are many of his personal drone photographs hanging in the office from recent trips.

Dr. Heather Lenker, DMD

Dr. Heather Lenker followed in her father’s footsteps and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as well, and immediately joined her father in practice at Lenker Dental. She lives in Philadelphia, PA and loves her roof deck with a beautiful skyline view (Despite her father’s recommendation that moving to the suburbs would be a much more manageable commute). 

Dr. Heather’s practice philosophy is to work together with the patient to meet their individual needs. Dentistry is not one size fits all! She loves working with patients to achieve their goals, whether it is straighter teeth, a whiter smile, or just staying healthy. There are always multiple ways to achieve the desired result. Dr. Heather will carefully review these options with you, so you may select the best treatment plan for your needs. Dr. Heather also has spent time working at a non-profit pediatric practice in Philadelphia. She enjoys making the dentist a fun experience for kids, while also teaching them to practice healthy habits at home. Dr. Heather is trained to provide dental care for adults and children with disabilities and finds through excellent communication between patient, provider, and caregiver appointments can be a huge success! 

In her spare time, Dr. Heather spends time volunteering with the Junior League of Philadelphia, an organization of women committed to improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. She also volunteers with Baker Industries a non-profit workforce development program founded in Malvern that provides essential work opportunities for vulnerable and hard to employ adults. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time outside, especially in Cape May Point.

Susan Lenker Hitchings, Office Manager

Susan Hitchings has been working at Lenker Dental for almost 15 years, and we are certainly lucky to have her! She took over the position from her mother Carol Lenker and is carrying on the tradition of our family dental practice in Paoli. She graduated from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Economics. Dental insurance can be confusing to navigate with a maze of deductibles, annual maximums, and procedure limits. Susan will help you understand your benefits so that you can use them to maximize your oral health. One of the best parts of joining our practice is that you’ll truly be treated like family. Susan knows all of our patients by name and will ensure from start to finish you’re taken care of.  

Susan lives in Fort Washington with her husband Brian and new English springer spaniel puppy Quinn. (Who also can sometimes be spotted helping out in the front office, but mostly looking for pets or treats). She enjoys spending her summers in Ocean City, NJ soaking up the sun or working in her garden. She has three children Laura, Emily, and David who visit often (Mostly to give Quinn more pets and treats!).
